From its 310m high piton, medieval city of Sancerre gives you an amazing panorama all over the vineyard. But this region is not only wines and good food like the crottin de Chavignol, a famous goat cheese. There are also some picturesque villages, which will welcome you near the Loire. A different kind of field sports can be chosen, for instance walking, biking (thanks to the Loire à Vélo road), canoeing… Among this natural area, you can enjoy remarquable heritage along the Loire, on the Berry’s side. Coming in Sancerre area means you can be amazed by all the little things you can discover in villages which are among the vineyard of the middle of France.
In the heart of the city of Sancerre, come discover secrets of the appellation. Walking through a scenographic space of 350m², you will have some details to help you to understand the main role of terroir, history of the area or grapes varieties thanks. A tiny garden will make you appreciate characteristic favours you can find in our wines and you can have a wonderful view all over the vineyard from the panoramic terrace.
The touristic cycle road gives you the opportunity to discover the natural and cultural landscape of Pays de la Loire and Centre regions from green ways. You can peacefully enjoy Loire’s sides. Don’t worry differences of levels are low, so everyone can enjoy those roads. The braves could take away the Loire and make a tour by Sancerre to admire the view from the piton. All along the longest river of France, you can find some establishments with ‘Loire à vélo” label giving you infrastructures according to your cycles.

The vineyard of the Centre of France counts 8 Appellations. The most famous are certainly Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé but there are others which worth to be known like Pouilly-sur-Loire, Reuilly, Châteaumeillant, Quincy, Menetou-Salon or Coteaux du Giennois. In this part of vineyard, Sauvignon blanc is the king for white grape varieties and Pinot Noir for rosé and red.

Near the potter’s village – La Borne -, this unique cathedral has been officially designed as an historical monument in July 2012. The artiste, Jean Linard, has built this kind of house thanks to salvaged stuffs. In 2010, an association is become the owner, has saved the building and has made the promotion of this atypical heritage, perfect blend of imposing sculptures and personal ceramic things.
